Linux Mint Iso Size
I've read so much info on public keys and certificates and gpg and stuff that my head is spinning and I need help.
Make a bootable flash drive from an ISO image on Linux Mint We all know that installing an operating system from a USB drive is much faster than installing from DVD. Linux Mint is composed of many software packages, of which the vast majority are distributed under a free software license (also known as open source).
I've downloaded both the 32 and 64 bit Mint 18 .iso's, and also the sha256sum.txt and sha256sum.txt.gpg files. Now, before I write the .iso's to disks I want to verify that a) the original file is good, i.e. signed with the correct key, and b) that the file wasn't corrupted during download.
I've installed gpg4win, following the instructions I found at http://www.howtogeek.com/246332/how-to- .. ered-with/ , a link I found in a post elsewhere on this forum. In the example they unfortunately use Fedora and I don't know how that part of the example translates to verifying a Mint .iso.
Where do I find the 'Mint signing key'? I see the instruction to do gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-key '27DE B156 44C6 B3CF 3BD7 D291 300F 846B A25B AE09' but since I don't yet have Mint installed I can't do that. What is the equivalent instruction in Windows?
